  1. Sloss Furnaces was one of the places I missed in Alabama. We'll visit AL again in the spring and this NPS is one of the stops on my list. Looks like you had a great time. We spent over a year in our RV in Northern Alabama and really explored that area. The Coon Dog Cemetery is fun. Wheeler Wildlife Refuge, Mooresville (the entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places and part of Disney's Tom and Huck was filmed there), hiking at Monte Sano (love their campground), Russell Cave, the Tiffin Motorhome Factory (free tours) and US Space and Rocket Center were some of our favorites. I could go on and on. If you're interested, you can see my Alabama posts here http://www.thetravelingpraters.com/#uds-search-results. Happy and Safe Travels!

  2. Hey Praters! We only stayed a couple of days in the area, so we only got to see the Sloss Furnaces and the Vulcan statue. We did stop in Huntsville earlier this fall to see the Space and Rocket Center!

We look forward to seeing some of the sites you mentioned on our next trip through the area!
