We stayed for a total of three nights, in and out, at Ponderosa RV Park in Kissimmee, Florida. Our favorite part was feeding the geese and Florida Soft Shell Turtles (first time spotting this species!).
Staff - 8 - Staff we spoke with was very helpful.
Nearby attractions - 9 - About 30-40 minutes to Disney, further to other Orlando attractions.
Natural surroundings - 7 - Little fenced in pond, several trees. Close to toll road.
Value - 8 - We paid $33 a night for a pull-through grass site with full hook-ups. This is pretty good for the Orlando area.
Bathrooms - 9 - Nice bathrooms, plenty big, clean and modern. There are several bathhouse buildings throughout the park.
Roominess - 7 - Average sized sites.
Facility fun - 7 - Very small playground, pool, horseshoe pits.
Cleanliness - 7 - Some long term residents, basically a clean park.
Facility usefulness - 7 - Laundry, propane, wifi extra.
Overall - 7 - Clean and cheap place to stay near WDW with a pool! Loved the turtles!
My grandparents had their winter home in this park for many years until it was destroyed in the 1998 tornado. They made it out with only their lives. It's nice to see it has reopened and stayed in business. Lots of great childhood memories there!
