150 places we have been but did not go on this trip

So we got to thinking of all the places we have been in America and Canada that we did not visit on this trip and would still recommend as fun places to stop and see. We came up with 150 places either Patsy or I have been to in these two great countries that we did not visit during our Napkin Dreams Excursion. Campground Review - Chattanooga North KOA

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Chattanooga North KOA near Cleveland, Tennessee.

Staff - 9 - Owner/manager checked us in and took us to our site. He was the exact twin of an old friend of ours, Gary Hauser

Nearby attractions - 9 - Right next to Cleveland, TN and still close to Knoxville and Chattanooga.

Natural surroundings - 7 - Close to a lake and some trees on property.

Value - 6 - We paid $36 a night for a pull-through gravel site with full-hook ups  with a discount from our KOA card. 

Bathrooms - 7 - Decent enough.

Roominess - 8 - Our lot was pretty big and set apart. Not all of the sites were this big.

Facility fun - 7 - Playground, outdoor pool, small game room.

Cleanliness - 8 - Park was very clean and tidy.

Facility usefulness - 9 -  Laundry, propane, picnic tables and fire rings at each site, free wifi, camp store.

Overall - 8 - A nice KOA park.

Campground Review - Lakeview RV Park

We stayed at a very nice Lakeview RV Park in Bristol, Tennessee on our way back from the funeral in Roanoke.

Staff - 9 - Owner/manager checked us in and another employee helped us with propane. Both were very courteous.

Nearby attractions - 9 - Very close to the Motor Speedway in Bristol and within driving distance to Gatlinburg, Johnson City and Asheville.

Natural surroundings - 7 - Close to a lake and some trees on property.

Value - 8 - We paid $19.50 a night for a pull-through gravel site with full-hook ups including cable with a discount from Passport America. 

Bathrooms - 8 - Several separate bathrooms with showers, sink and toilet were pretty clean and big.

Roominess - 9 - Very large lots and not too busy this time of the year.

Facility fun - 8 - Playground, outdoor pool, lake activities, other activities.

Cleanliness - 8 - Park was very clean and tidy.

Facility usefulness - 9 -  Laundry, propane, picnic tables and fire rings at each site, seasonal restaurant and camp store.

Overall - 9 - A very clean, well run RV Park

Minister's Treehouse

In Crossville, Tennessee there lies a boy's dream, or maybe any kid's dream. In this sleepy little town in central Tennessee a pastor has been building a treehouse for several years and it is now over seven stories high. On a snowy afternoon in November I gave Patsy an afternoon off and took my five boys to the Minister's Treehouse.

Our boys loved this little stop and even though it was a cold day they never once complained while they explored every nook and cranny of this wonderland. We had a fun time finding school desks, a little chapel with a Bible carved from wood and a tower where we could see the name of Jesus cut in the landscape.

While there are some places in this treehouse that might not seem safe, this added to the sense of adventure for our boys. They loved swinging on the lawn chair hanging from a beam far above and climbing up and down stairs and ladders that creaked and groaned a little bit.

We spent about an hour here and had a fun time and never had to pay a thing because this a free place to visit, although they do take donations to help with the upkeep of the treehouse.

Campground Review - Deer Run RV Resort

While traveling through Tennessee we stopped in Crossville to see the Minister's Treehouse and we stayed at a nice place called Deer Run RV Resort . We saw some unique birds here as well!

Staff - 9 - Very nice lady checked us in and gave us directions to the Minister's Treehouse. Another employee who checked us out was also quite friendly.

Nearby attractions - 7 - Within 60 minutes of all he Nashville and Knoxville attractions.

Natural surroundings - 10 - Lots of trees and a large lake in the campground. 

Value - 9 - We paid $16.50 a night for a pull-through grass and gravel site with full-hook ups with a discount from Passport America. 

Bathrooms - 8 - Several big and shower stalls. Water was warm if room was a bit cold.

Roominess - 8 - Very large lots and not too busy this time of the year.

Facility fun - 10 - Playgrounds, outdoor pool, beach area, lake activities, basketball court, tennis courts, other activities.

Cleanliness - 8 - Park looked nice, there are two areas, one for seasonal and one for short-term campers. Short-term area is nicely kept up.

Facility usefulness - 10 -  Laundry, propane, picnic tables and fire rings at each site, exchange library, seasonal restaurant and chapel and large camp store.

Overall - 9 - Very nice and affordable resort with lots to do in season.

Campground Review - Nashville Country RV Park

Just passing through Nashville we stopped over at the Nashville Country RV Park just north of Nashville.

Staff - 7 - The woman who took our reservations was the same who checked us in and was courteous and thorough.

Nearby attractions - 9 - Within 30 minutes of all he Nashville attractions.

Natural surroundings - 8 - Little river runs close by and mature trees on lot. Close to state highway. 

Value - 7 - We paid $37 a night for a pull-through grass and gravel site with full-hook ups with a discount from Passport America. We paid extra for our kids. Site included cable. Still about as cheap as you can find anywhere near Nashville.

Bathrooms - 7 - Several big and shower stalls. Water was warm if room was a bit cold.

Roominess - 8 - Pretty big lots

Facility fun - 8 - Playground, outdoor pool, hot tub, exercise room, other activities.

Cleanliness - 8 - Park was well taken care of.

Facility usefulness - 9 -  Laundry, propane, picnic tables and fire rings at each site, free wifi, exchange library and camp store.

Overall - 8 - Cheapest place in Nashville is pretty decent place to stay.
