I am not a big fan of of all the gore and horror and evil elements that so often surround Halloween, and we usually try to find a church that holds a trunk or treat or fall festival for finding some candy and showing off their costumes. This year we were in Pigeon Forge for October 31st and there were no churches in this area that were having any trick or treat alternative.
There were a couple of options for us though. Bass Pro Shops in nearby Kodak was holding a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown festival with free pictures and some candy for the kids. Then we headed over the Pigeon Forge Community Center. Here the community of Pigeon Forge had set up booths for the kids to stop by with candy and coupons and even toothbrushes from the local dentist! We got some cool coupons to use and share with another family we met a couple of days later at a Krystal near the interstate.
It was a beautiful warm evening and we enjoyed being able to walk around as a family and show off the kids dressed up as super heroes! Hard to believe this has been our second Halloween on the road.
