  1. Hi Marty,
I think I remember reading about a place in Indiana or Illinois where you bought a membership? It was a donation of $50, right? Does this include the Science centers or is it just children's museums? Can you buy online? Does every family member get a membership card for the $50 donation? Sorry for all the questions! I am trying to decide what is a better option for us, and your looks really great! Did you guys get a Zoo pass too? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks so much!

  2. Hi Steph,

for our second year we joined the Evansville (Indiana) Museum for about $50. For our first year we joined the Discovery Center in Rockford, Illinois. It was around $80. In each case we got a membership to the ASTC which is a variety of museums, all have some sort of science base, but not strictly.

Our first year on the road we also bought a zoo membership, but haven't so far the second year. We hit enough the first year that this year we figured we would just get the zoo membership. We got our first zoo membership for around $75.

Both memberships get us into most reciprocal organizations for free. A small percentage of them only do half-price for reciprocal memberships. the size of our family has not mattered so far.

If you like I can email you list of the participating museums when we first joined!
